SECATEC – From Then to Now
Established in 1970, we look back on a long history and on milestones of our activities (excerpt)
1970
- founded by Mr Christian Lohse in Dusseldorf as a sole proprietorship
- beginning of reed switch manufacturing for a pneumatic cylinder manufacturer
1972
- relocating head office to Katzwinkel
- establishment of Chr. Lohse Berührungslose Schalttechnik GmbH
1980
- Setting up a hybrid production facility for manufacturing electronic circuits for inductive and capacitive sensors.
1981
- Inductive and capacitive sensors are added to the product range.
1990
- Company takeover by a longstanding co-partner.
- Trading name is changed to SECATEC Berührungslose Schalttechnik GmbH.
1991
- Expansion of sales activities across Europe.
1992
- Development, manufacture and sale of electronic magnetic sensors.
1993
- Ex-approved reed sensors for the petrochemical industry added to the product range.
1994
- Product range expanded to include special equipment for the agricultural industry.
1998
- Trading name is changed to SECATEC electronic GmbH.
2001
- Transmit system patent granted.
2003
- Initial ISO 9001 certification.
2005
- Product range expanded to Ex-approved burst sensors.
2012
- Inductive high-temperature sensors up to +300 °C added to product range.
