Ex-approved switches - burst sensors

Burst sensors signal the triggering/opening of bursting discs. They are easy to install as part of the bursting disc and in the indoor and outdoor (IP67) applications.

In the versions with a PTFE tip the trigger element remains on the sensor when it snaps off so that no parts soil the container contents/silos.

  • either 0 ohm or 2 ohm resistive sensor

Installation

  • inside the sensor is a resistive sensor. A conductor loop is printed on the hybrid circuit protruding from the housing and protected by a flask, which is broken by the bursting of the disc and so permanently interrupting the circuit
  • the sensor is installed as part of the bursting disc
